HAPPENINGS
As Deep Read Press begins its third year in business, all of us want to thank our club members for our success. In order to show our appreciation, we want to give a little back to you. At the end of January, we will name the Deep Reader of the Year for 2022. The winner will receive a certificate of appreciation and other valuable prizes. The winner will be the person that most aided Deep Read Press in 2022. You are free to nominate persons for the award, including yourself. Please email the reasons you think the nominee should win the award to:
deepreadpress@gmail.com.

The deadline for nominations is January 15, 2023. We will name the winner on January 31.
In order to show our appreciation further, we want to give $10 discounts to three of our members for purchases of $20 or more. The first three of you that email us at deepreadpress@gmail.com telling us that you desire to receive the $10 discount will get one. Just remember that you must order the books directly from us – not from Amazon, Barnes & Nobel, or any other vendor. We will provide complete details when we receive your email.

We will announce the recipients of the discounts as soon as we have given them all out.

We are excited that Deep Reap Press will be releasing several new titles in the coming months. Expect new books from J. R. Brienza, Robbie Bristol, Kim Gammon, Johnny Potter, Brenda LeCrone Seaberg, Shena Newberry Wilder, and others.

Stay tuned for updates concerning our new releases.

We will also continue to spotlight our individual authors. To start with, we want to thank Deep Read Press author, Shena Newberry Wilder for her community involvement. She recently donated her entire royalty check to a charity in her hometown.

Several of our print ads are running nationwide and we are optimistic about them. Additionally, we have renewed our relationships with some of the organizations that we have been working with since our beginning.

We are also continuing our internet and radio ads as well.

We will also get tens of thousands of eyes on our authors when remarks CL Gammon made appear in the cover story of the next issue of the IBPA Independent. The exposure we get in this important trade magazine will benefit us greatly.
We are still accepting submissions. We welcome both prose and verse from all that care to submit them. However, this is a very competitive business and very few submissions make the cut. Make sure to check out our guidelines before submitting.

We are happy to announce that Connie Howell’s book, Perfectly Imperfect has received nomination for the Writer’s Lounge Bookshelf Award. We are very proud that Connie’s book is getting the attention it deserves. We have high hopes that she will win the award.

Deep Read Press authors are setting the pace on the interview circuit as well. Numbers from the show, Judith Mancini Today indicate that Connie Howell’s interview leads all episodes in total views, and Deep Read Press author Anita Robertson’s interview is second. The hundreds that viewed the above mentioned episodes were not disappointed.

We are very proud of all our authors. No publisher has better authors than we do.

We expect the accolades for our authors to continue in 2023.

Shena Newberry Wilder has been elevated to Deep Read Press Acquisitions Editor. She will assume her expanded role in early 2023.

As always, we encourage you to contact Deep Read Press about any matter you wish. We will respond promptly.

A NOTE FROM CL GAMMON

The new year is a time for fresh starts, for new beginnings. But it is also a time for driving forward and contining on the correct path. American hero Davy Crockett said, “Be always sure you are right – then go ahead.” This could very well be our motto here at Deep Read Press. We always strive to do the right thing, We are very proud of our efforts.

Yes, we are looking forward to an even more successful year in 2023, but we also want to reflect back and appreciate the many blessings 2022 has visited upon us as well.

First, our team is even stronger than it was at the beginning of last year. Now numbering 10, our team is large enough to carry on the myriad of tasks necessary to keep a publishing company functioning and to service the needs of our authors and customers at the same time.

We are proud that we strive to maintain professional and friendly relationships with our authors and customers. We founded Deep Read Press with the idea of being a place where good authors could have their books published their way. We have always put our authors first, even when we could have put profits ahead of them.

This is a business and we have to reject most of the manuscripts that come to us. But we always explain why we have rejected a given manuscript and encourage the author to continue writing.

Doing the right thing is its own reward, but there are rewards that come from it too. Deep Read Press is an example of that.

From now on, our newsletter will come to you quarterly. However, we will send Deep Reader Club members updates, discounts, and other goodies between newsletters, and you will never be out of the loop. Besides that, we encourage your emails, texts, and phone calls.
